Thank You to all participants at the PTO 5K Run/Walk

We would like to extend a very warm thank you to all the parents and children who participated in the PTO 5K Run/Walk last Sunday, November 2, 2014.

It was wonderful meeting many of you and having the opportunity to analyze your movement and correct it with the Fascial Movement Taping.

I was both surprised and disturbed by the fact that so many of the race participants that we screened complained of several chronic problems. There were people who had chronic achilles tendon pain, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, lower back pain, hip pain, and even shoulder and neck pain. In my opinion not only unnecessary but also unacceptable.

One more thing that surprised me was that many people we screened mentioned having consulted medical, orthopedic, chiropractic, physical therapists, massage therapists, acupuncturist and still did not get the help they were hoping for.

While the traditional health care model’s goal is eliminating the symptomatic picture, our clinical experience has  repeatedly proven that the symptomatic area of the body is usually painful because it is overworked. This means that muscles, joints and ligaments distant from the area of complaint aren’t firing at 100%.

These issues usually develop over years and don’t become symptomatic until much later. The more we use our bodies that have biomechanical compensations, the faster our joints wear. This usually presents itself as chronic inflammation which in turn creates pain and further imbalance.

Very often we think we are benefiting from physical activities such as, running, lifting weights, cardio classes, yoga even if we are in pain. Doing so can actually reinforce these abnormalities.

This cascade of events of dysfunction, instability, inflammation and learned abnormal habit patterns become reinforced in the central nervous system (CNS) and lead to syndromes that many people have learned how to, “live with”.

People often feel stuck in these situations because many practitioners have been taught that, “the pain is where the problem is”. I have to confess that I fell into this same trap early in my career as a traditional chiropractic doctor. This led to several years of frustration, not only for my patients but for me as well.

This led me to begin exploring and researching different explanations and reasons why peoples’ pain syndromes and problems don’t go away. Thankfully, after decades studying and applying these advanced principles and techniques outside my own profession, we find that we can usually identify the true cause(s) to people’s chronic problems and therefore help resolve them. Here are several reasons why your pain won’t go away.

We have dedicated our practice to educating individuals and groups that it is not necessary to live with pain. You can live pain free once you know where your problem is stemming from. And that you can utilize conservatives methods to correct them.

We invite all of you to participate in a more comprehensive exam at our facility and help support a good cause this Thanksgiving Holiday. To help us provide Thanksgiving dinners to The Home of the Sparrow – (An organization that assists in transforming the lives of homeless and low-income women and their families)

Join us in celebrating Patient Appreciation Day on November 12th, 2014.
